Helpful Tips to Arrive to School on Time

2015/2016

Here are some helpful tips that have assisted other Lone Tree School

Families in the past:

  1. Lay out all clothes and both shoes the night before and in the same place each evening. (Have the PE shoes ready on PE days.)
  2. Plan breakfast in advance or have a quick grab-n-go breakfast from home…
  3. Or eat breakfast at school-Lone Tree breakfast is from 7:30am – 7:50 am.

$1.50 – full price         $.25 – reduced price

If you qualify for free/reduced lunch, you receive free/reduced breakfast.

Allow enough time to eat breakfast to be on time to class!

  1. Buy/set the alarm clock at least 15 min ahead.
  2. Buy your child/children their own alarm clock.
  3. Set ALL clocks in the home at least 15 min ahead.
  4. Have backpacks ready the night before and sitting near the exit door.
  5. Set priorities: complete all homework the night before and put it in the backpack the night before.
  6. Inform sitters of importance that children are to be to school on time everyday.
  7. Send children to bed at a reasonable hour. Most pediatricians recommend that children under twelve years of age require 9-10 hours of sleep per night. This would suggest a bedtime of no later than 8:30 p.m. so that they can wake up easily.
  8. Leave on time so arrival is before the 8:00 am bell/K start time.
  9. Return to school after a Doctor/Dentist appointment.  They usually do not take all day.
  10. If you have more than one child-

A. Label backpacks and folders with each child’s name.

B. Buy different colors of backpacks for each child to avoid mix ups.

         C. Have a separate spot for each child’s belongings by the exit door to avoid delays.
